Continuous hot water
Back-to-back showers and a filled soaker tub without waiting for a tank to recover.
A properly sized tankless water heater gives you continuous hot water and frees up floor space. Sizing, gas supply and venting decide whether it performs, and that is where we focus.
No heat, no hot water or a gas smell? Call any time, day or night.
A tankless water heater, also called an on-demand water heater, fires a powerful gas burner only when a tap opens. Water passes through a heat exchanger and comes out hot for as long as the tap runs. There is no stored tank to keep warm overnight, which reduces standby losses and leaves space in a crowded utility room.
The trade-off is that a tankless unit has a flow limit. It can only heat a certain number of litres per minute, and that number drops in winter when incoming water is colder. Metro Vancouver mains water can drop well below summer temperatures in January, so a unit that handles two showers in July may struggle in February if it was sized too small. We size for your coldest month and the number of fixtures you run at once.
Tankless is not right for every house, but it shines in the right one.

A wall-mounted unit frees the floor space a 40 or 50 gallon tank used to take.
Condensing tankless units do not keep water hot when nobody is using it.
With regular descaling and service, a tankless unit commonly outlasts a standard tank.
Digital controls hold a set outlet temperature, helpful for families with young children.
Some homes pair hot water and space heating in one combi boiler, a related approach we also install.
We count fixtures, ask about habits and calculate flow at winter inlet temperatures.
We confirm the gas supply can handle the load and plan a vent route that meets code.
The unit, isolation valves and condensate line are installed, then tested at full fire.
Flushing the heat exchanger and cleaning the inlet filter keep efficiency and flow up.
We work with gas burners and venting daily, which is the part tankless installs most often get wrong.
If a tank or heat pump water heater suits you better, we will say so.
We maintain and repair the units we install, as well as most other brands.

It can, because there is no standby loss from keeping a tank hot. The size of the saving depends on how much hot water you use and the efficiency of the old heater. Households that use a lot of hot water sometimes use more because the supply never runs out.
This is often called a cold water sandwich. It happens when hot water in the pipe is used, the unit restarts and briefly delivers cooler water. A recirculation setup or a small buffer tank reduces it.
Yes. Metro Vancouver water is soft, so scale is less of a problem, but the inlet screen still collects debris and the heat exchanger and burner should be checked yearly. Annual service also confirms venting and condensate drainage are working.
Usually, but it often requires a larger gas line and a new vent, because tankless burners draw much more gas than a tank. We assess this before quoting so you know the full scope.
Tankless water heaters need electricity for controls and ignition, so they will not heat water during an outage. A tank with a standing pilot will. Some owners add a small backup power source for the unit.
