Overview

Residential plumbing services, from supply lines to safety devices

Plumbing in a house is really three systems: clean pressurized water coming in, hot water produced on site, and waste water leaving by gravity. Our residential plumbing services cover all three, along with the protective devices in between such as pressure reducing valves, expansion tanks, backflow preventers and sump pumps.

Many Metro Vancouver homes have a mix of materials. A 1970s Port Coquitlam house might still have galvanized steel near the meter and copper elsewhere, while a newer Burke Mountain home is mostly PEX. Knowing what is behind the walls helps us recommend a repair that lasts. We explain what we find, quote clearly before starting and protect floors while we work.

Questions

Questions homeowners ask us

Still unsure? Call (236) 222-2222 and talk it through with us.

What should I do first if a pipe bursts?

Shut off the main water valve, then turn off the water heater if hot water is involved. Move valuables away from the water and call us at (236) 222-2222. Technicians are available 24/7.

Why do my pipes bang when a tap closes?

That is water hammer. It is often caused by high water pressure, a failing pressure reducing valve or missing arrestors on fast-closing valves such as washing machines. It is worth fixing because the shock stresses joints over time.

Is high water pressure a problem?

Yes. Many Metro Vancouver neighbourhoods on hillsides have high street pressure, and a PRV keeps it at a safe level for fixtures, tanks and appliances. If your PRV has failed, toilets may run and relief valves may drip.

Do you replace old galvanized or poly-b pipe?

We can assess older piping and recommend a partial or full replacement where it makes sense. Polybutylene and corroded galvanized pipe are common reasons homeowners plan repiping.

What is the difference between your plumbing and drain pages?

This page covers plumbing as a whole, including supply lines, water heaters and safety devices. Our plumbing and drain page focuses on waste lines, clogs, camera inspection and sewer-related problems.
