Dust returns within days
A thin one-inch filter or leaky return duct lets fine dust bypass filtration and land on every surface.
Dust that settles the day after you clean, stuffy bedrooms, wildfire smoke sneaking in: we fix indoor air quality problems at the source, using the furnace or heat pump you already own.
No heat, no hot water or a gas smell? Call any time, day or night.
Most of us spend the majority of the day indoors, and in a tightly built Lower Mainland house the same air circulates for hours through your ductwork. Good indoor air quality in Metro Vancouver is less about gadgets and more about four basics: catching particles, controlling moisture, killing what grows in damp coils and moving stale or hot air out of the house.
Able Pro looks at your home as a system. A technician checks the filter rack, the blower, the coil, the ducts and the way your house breathes, then suggests the smallest change that makes a real difference. Sometimes that is a better filter cabinet. Sometimes it is a humidifier for a dry winter house or a clean dryer vent that stops lint and moisture from building up. You get plain options and a clear quote before any work begins.
These are the complaints we hear most, and each one points to a specific fix.

Summer smoke events push fine particles indoors; a high-MERV media filter and the right fan setting help a lot.
Wet windows in January or cracked lips and static shocks both mean humidity is out of a healthy range.
Damp evaporator coils and drain pans can grow mould and bacteria that you smell when the system starts.
If symptoms ease when you leave the house, pollen, dander or mould spores may be circulating in your ducts.
A clogged dryer vent wastes energy, pushes humid air back indoors and is a known fire hazard.
Tell us what you notice and when. Dust, smells and condensation each lead us to different parts of the system.
We check humidity, filter fit, coil condition and airflow so recommendations are based on readings, not guesses.
You get a short list of fixes, from simple to more involved, with a clear quote for each one.
We install the chosen upgrade, show you how to maintain it and leave the work area clean.
We tie air quality upgrades into your existing furnace, heat pump or air handler instead of adding clutter.
If a filter upgrade solves the problem, that is what we recommend. No add-ons you do not need.

For most forced-air homes it is a properly sealed media filter cabinet holding a four or five inch filter. It captures far more fine dust than a thin filter while keeping airflow healthy for the blower. It is also the easiest upgrade to maintain.
No. UV light targets microbes growing on the coil and drain pan; it does not capture dust, pollen or smoke particles. The two work best together, with the filter catching particles and the lamp keeping the coil clean.
Around 35 to 45 percent works for most Metro Vancouver homes. Go higher and you risk condensation on windows and mould in cold corners. In very cold outflow weather, aim for the lower end of that range.
Yes. A higher-rated filter, running the fan continuously on low and keeping fresh-air intakes closed during the worst days can noticeably reduce indoor smoke. We can set this up and show you how to switch back afterward.
Not always. If ducts have visible debris, renovation dust or pest contamination, cleaning helps. Often fixing the filter fit and sealing return leaks does more for air quality than cleaning alone, and we will tell you which applies.
Yes. Many condos and townhomes have heat pumps or fan coils with small filters, and we can suggest improvements that suit the space and any strata rules.
