Kitchen sinks
Grease, coffee grounds and food scraps build up in the long horizontal run to the stack.
Plunging moves a clog a few centimetres. Professional drain cleaning scours the pipe wall so water runs freely again and stays that way longer.
No heat, no hot water or a gas smell? Call any time, day or night.
Most clogs are not a single object but a slow build-up. In kitchens it is grease that cools and hardens, coating the pipe with a sticky layer that traps food particles. In bathrooms it is hair bound together with soap scum. Drain cleaning with the right cable and cutting head removes that layer along the full length of the pipe instead of punching a small hole through it.
We choose the tool for the line. Small handheld augers suit bathroom sinks and tub drains, while sectional and drum machines with root cutters handle 3 and 4 inch main lines. For long kitchen runs with heavy grease, a more aggressive cutting head or follow-up maintenance may be needed. When a drain clogs again within months, we recommend a camera inspection so you know exactly what is happening inside.
Each type of drain clogs for a different reason.
Grease, coffee grounds and food scraps build up in the long horizontal run to the stack.
Hair and soap scum knot together just past the drain and in the trap.
Wipes, paper towels and toys catch in the trapway or further down the branch.
Lint and detergent residue narrow the pipe until the washer overflows on drain cycles.
Roots, scale and flushed debris restrict the line that carries all household waste.
Basement and garage floor drains collect silt and dry out, letting odours in.
We use the fixture opening or nearest cleanout, protecting floors with mats and drop cloths.
The machine feeds a cable with the right head through the line to cut and pull out the blockage.
We run water through every affected fixture to confirm full flow.
You get specific tips for what caused your clog and whether follow-up is wise.
A blocked main line can mean no toilets for the whole house, so we answer around the clock.
If a clog keeps returning, we can inspect the line on the same visit when needed.
Mechanical cleaning removes clogs without the damage chemical openers can cause.
Drain work can get messy, and we leave your bathroom or basement clean.

Most household drains only need attention when they slow down. Kitchen lines with heavy cooking use and main lines with root intrusion may benefit from scheduled cleaning every one to two years.
Jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the pipe and works well on grease. It is not suitable for every pipe, especially old or damaged lines. A camera inspection first helps decide whether cable cleaning or jetting is the safer choice.
Strainers catch solids, but fats and oils still go down as liquid and solidify in the pipe. Over time that coating narrows the drain. Wiping pans and avoiding grease in the sink makes the biggest difference.
Occasionally, but it is rarely needed. We prefer cleanouts and fixture access because they are safer and give better control of the cable.
If the cable comes back with soil, pipe fragments or heavy roots, we will suggest a camera inspection to locate the damage. You then decide on repair options with a clear quote.
