Overview

Air conditioner services for the whole life of your system

An air conditioner is a heat mover. Refrigerant picks up heat at the indoor coil, a compressor pumps it outside, and the outdoor fan throws it into the yard. When any link in that chain weakens, a clogged filter, a tired capacitor, a slow refrigerant leak, you feel it as warm air from the vents or a system that runs all afternoon without catching up. Able Pro offers air conditioner services that cover every one of those links.

This page is your starting point for anything AC related. Below you will find our repair, maintenance plan, installation and replacement pages, each with details on what we check and what to expect. If you are not sure which one you need, call us and describe what the unit is doing. We will point you in the right direction.

What to know

What we do for air conditioners

Four core services, plus the small jobs that keep a system healthy.

01

Diagnosis and repair

We trace the actual cause, whether that is a failed capacitor, a contactor, a frozen coil or a leak, and quote the fix before doing it.

02

Seasonal maintenance

A spring visit cleans the coils, clears the condensate drain, tests electrical parts and checks refrigerant performance before the heat arrives.

03

New installation

For homes adding air conditioning for the first time, we size the unit to the house and plan the line set, pad, drain and wiring properly.

04

Replacement

When repairs stop making sense, we swap in a matched system and look at whether a heat pump would serve you better.

05

Filters and airflow

A surprising number of AC complaints come back to restricted airflow. We check filters, return grilles, blower speed and duct issues.

06

Condensate problems

Water around the furnace or a dripping wall unit usually means a plugged drain line, a failed condensate pump or a frozen coil thawing.

Included

Call us if your AC is doing any of these

  • Blowing room-temperature air
  • Outdoor fan not spinning while the unit hums
  • Ice on the copper line or indoor coil
  • Water pooling near the furnace
  • Tripping the breaker on hot afternoons
  • Clicking on and off every few minutes
  • Rattling, buzzing or grinding outside
  • Power bills rising with no change in use
How it works

How an AC visit works

  1. 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call (236) 222-2222 or book online. A short description helps the technician arrive with the most likely parts.

  2. 2

    Test, not guess

We measure temperatures, pressures, amperage and airflow so the diagnosis is based on readings rather than hunches.

  3. 3

    Approve the plan

You get a clear explanation and price for the recommended work, and the choice is yours.

  4. 4

    Finish and verify

After the work, we run the system, confirm the temperature drop across the coil and leave the area clean.

Why Able Pro

Why choose Able Pro for your AC

Emergency line 24/7

A dead air conditioner during a heat warning is a health issue for babies, seniors and pets. Our technicians are on call around the clock.

Readings-based diagnosis

We show you the numbers behind a recommendation so you understand why a part needs replacing.

AC and heat pump know-how

Because we work on both, we can tell you when a heat pump is worth considering and when a straight AC is fine.

Clean, careful work

Drop sheets inside, tidy line sets outside and a clean-up before we leave.

Questions

Questions homeowners ask us

Still unsure? Call (236) 222-2222 and talk it through with us.

What is the difference between your AC pages and cooling pages?

The air conditioner pages are about servicing a specific AC system: fixing, maintaining, installing or replacing it. Our broader cooling page compares every way to cool a home, including heat pumps and ductless systems, if you are still deciding what to buy.

How often should an air conditioner be serviced?

Once a year, ideally in spring before the first hot stretch. If your system is a heat pump that also heats in winter, twice a year is better because it runs far more hours.

My AC is running but the house is still warm. Is it broken?

Not always. Start by checking the filter and making sure the thermostat is set to cool with the fan on auto. If the air from the vents is barely cooler than the room, the unit may be low on refrigerant or have a weak component, and a technician should test it.

Can you service a brand of AC you did not install?

Yes. We repair and maintain most common residential makes and models, whoever installed them originally.

What should I do if my AC is leaking water inside?

Turn the system off at the thermostat, mop up the water and check whether the filter is clogged. Then call us. Leaks usually come from a blocked condensate line or pump, and catching it early prevents ceiling or floor damage.
