Blinking error lights
Codes point to sensors, communication faults, high pressure or compressor protection. We read and verify them with testing.
Blinking lights, a head dripping on the floor or air that barely cools. Mini-splits fail differently from central air, and we know how to read them.
No heat, no hot water or a gas smell? Call any time, day or night.
Ductless mini-splits are packed with electronics. Inverter compressors, variable fan motors and multiple temperature sensors all report to circuit boards that talk to each other. When something goes wrong, the system usually tells you with a blinking light pattern or a code on the remote. Ductless AC repair starts there, then moves to testing the sensor, board, motor or refrigerant circuit the code points to.
Many mini-split calls are not failures at all. Dirty filters in the indoor head, a mould-coated blower wheel or a condensate line clogged with slime can make a perfectly healthy unit drip, smell or cool poorly. We separate cleaning issues from component failures so you are never charged for a part you did not need.
Ductless systems have their own set of common faults.

Usually a blocked drain, a poorly sloped line or a dirty coil. Long humid spells make it worse.
Dirty filters, a low refrigerant charge or a failing outdoor fan can all leave a room warm.
Mould and dust in the blower wheel and coil cause odours. A deep clean usually solves it.
Loose louvres, a damaged fan or expansion of plastic panels can create noises we can trace and fix.
Remote batteries, a failed receiver, a communication wire issue or a tripped breaker can make a head seem dead.
Tell us the make, the error code or light pattern and what the unit is doing when you call.
We open the head, check filters, coil, blower wheel and drain, and rule out the simple causes first.
Sensors, boards, fan motors and refrigerant pressures are tested against the manufacturer's specifications.
We explain the fix, agree the price with you and confirm the head is cooling and draining properly afterward.
Most mini-splits are heat pumps, and we service them for both heating and cooling problems.
We are used to strata access rules, balcony units and working quietly in occupied suites.
If a mini-split is your only cooling during a heat warning, call any time.
We never jump to replacing boards or units when a thorough cleaning is the real fix.

A blinking light is the unit's way of reporting a fault. The pattern or code differs by manufacturer. Note it down, turn the unit off and on once at the breaker, and if the code returns, call us with the details.
The drain line may be clogged, kinked or not sloped correctly, or the coil may be dirty enough to overflow the tray. Turn the unit off to prevent damage and have the drain and coil cleaned.
The smell usually comes from mould or bacteria growing on the coil and blower wheel, which is common in damp climates. It should be cleaned. A proper deep clean removes the source rather than just masking it.
Yes. On a multi-zone system, every indoor head depends on the one outdoor unit. If all heads stop together, the fault is likely outdoors or in the power supply.
Yes. We coordinate with building managers for roof or balcony access when needed and keep noise and mess to a minimum in your suite.
