Overview

One team for every kind of home heating

Homes across Metro Vancouver are heated in very different ways. A 1970s split-level in Port Coquitlam probably has a gas furnace and ducts. A Burnaby condo may have a ductless heat pump on the wall. An older Maple Ridge house might run hot water through a boiler and cast-iron radiators, with a gas fireplace in the living room for cold evenings. Our home heating services cover all of these, so you do not need a different company for each piece of equipment.

We help in three ways. First, we fix what is broken, at any hour, because a cold house in January is not something to sit on. Second, we keep systems tuned so they run efficiently and safely. Third, we help you choose new equipment when the time comes, comparing furnaces, heat pumps, dual fuel and boilers honestly against your home, your budget and the rebates that may apply. Browse the heating pages below or call (236) 222-2222 to talk it through.

What to know

Heating systems we work on

Each system has its strengths, and many homes combine two of them.

01

Gas furnaces

The most common forced-air heat in the region. We repair, tune and replace mid- and high-efficiency models.

02

Ducted and ductless heat pumps

Efficient electric heating that also cools in summer, a growing favourite since the 2021 heat dome.

03

Dual fuel systems

A heat pump paired with a gas furnace, switching to gas only when outdoor temperatures drop very low.

04

Boilers and combi units

Hydronic heat for radiators and in-floor loops, with combi boilers that also supply domestic hot water.

05

Gas fireplaces

Cleaning, ignition repairs and safety checks so your fireplace lights reliably and burns cleanly.

06

Indoor air add-ons

Filters, humidifiers and UV purifiers that make heated air healthier and more comfortable.

Included

Before you call: quick heating checks

  • Is the thermostat set to Heat and a few degrees above room temperature?
  • Have the thermostat batteries been replaced recently?
  • Is the furnace or air handler power switch turned on?
  • Has a breaker tripped on the electrical panel?
  • Is the air filter clogged or visibly grey?
  • For heat pumps, is the outdoor unit clear of snow, leaves and debris?
  • For boilers, does the pressure gauge read in the normal range?

Questions

Questions homeowners ask us

Still unsure? Call (236) 222-2222 and talk it through with us.

Should I choose a furnace or a heat pump?

It depends on your ducts, your electrical panel, how long you plan to stay and how you feel about summer cooling. Heat pumps work well in our mild climate and add air conditioning. Many people pick dual fuel to keep a gas furnace as backup for the coldest days.

How often does a heating system need maintenance?

Once a year is the usual rule for furnaces, boilers and gas fireplaces. Heat pumps run all year for heating and cooling, so some homeowners prefer a check in spring and another in fall.

Are there rebates for upgrading my heating?

Programs such as CleanBC Better Homes and offers from BC Hydro and FortisBC have supported heat pumps and high-efficiency equipment, sometimes with municipal top-ups. Amounts and eligibility change often, so we confirm what currently applies during your quote and help with the paperwork.

What are the warning signs of carbon monoxide?

Headaches, dizziness, nausea and tiredness that improve when you leave the house can be signs of CO exposure. Get outside, call 911, and have fuel-burning appliances inspected before using them again. A CO alarm on each floor is the best early warning.

My boiler is losing pressure. Is that serious?

A slow pressure drop usually means a small leak, a faulty pressure relief valve or an expansion tank problem. It is rarely an emergency, but it should be checked before it causes the boiler to lock out.

Do you install heating in basement suites?

Yes. Suites often need their own controls or a separate system so each household stays comfortable. We look at the layout and explain the practical options.
